A DAY IN MY LIFE AS AN ARIZONA REALTOR®

People assume my days look like fluff. The truth is more interesting and a lot more grounded. Here's what a real day looks like right now, building this business from the ground up.
5:30 a.m. — Up before the sun
I'm an early riser, but it's also strategic. The quiet hours before the world wakes up are mine. No calls, no notifications, no noise - just me, my mini dachshund, and the desert sky doing something spectacular over the mountains.
5:45 a.m. — Walking the dog (aka princess)
This isn't just a chore; it's thinking time. Some of my best ideas for strategy and goals. There's something about moving your body in the quiet desert air that clears space for good thinking.
6:30 a.m. — Coffee and planning
Coffee in hand, I sit down and map the day. What needs to happen, who I need to talk to, what's time-sensitive versus what can wait. After years of running board meetings and managing competing priorities in the nonprofit world, this habit is second nature, but now I'm building my business, on my terms, and that still feels remarkable some mornings.
7:00 a.m. — Learning something new
I carve out time every single day to learn from smarter people. Some of that includes market trends, negotiation tactics, new tools, what's happening in the nationwide real estate landscape. This industry moves fast, and I didn't leave one fast-paced world just to coast in another. Staying sharp is non-negotiable.
8:30 a.m. — Meeting with potential clients
This is where the relationship-building happens. It’s always been very natural for me. Coffee meetings, calls, intro conversations with people thinking about buying, selling, or just trying to understand the market and economy. I build trust, one honest conversation at a time. That's who I am and how this business gets built right.
12:00 p.m. — Open house prep
An upcoming open house means today includes prep. The listing needs to shine, the marketing is ready, and every detail is dialed in before doors open. I take this seriously. After all, I organized an annual 300+ attendee conference and things had to be in order. First impressions matter, and I only get one shot to make a buyer fall in love with a space.
2:00 p.m. — Back to it
More calls, more follow-ups, more of the unglamorous groundwork that nobody sees but that makes everything else possible. This is the part of entrepreneurship nobody warns you about — the sheer volume of small, necessary things.
4:00 p.m. — Heading home
I close the laptop, step away from the phone, and head home. Boundaries are extremely important, even when you're building something new.
4:30 p.m. — Exercise
Non-negotiable. After years in high-stress environments, I learned the hard way that skipping this is how burnout sneaks in. Strong body, clear mind - they're connected, and I don't pretend otherwise.
6:00 p.m. — Dinner and family time
This is the heart of the day. Cooking, sitting down together, actually being present. The corporate world taught me to always be "on." Building this business on my own terms means I get to choose when I'm on — and when I'm not.
7:30 p.m. — Tomorrow's prep
A quick review of tomorrow — especially with the open house ahead. Signage, materials, timing, anything that needs a final check. A little prep tonight means a calm, confident tomorrow.
8:30 p.m. — Winding down
No more screens, no more to-do lists. Just quiet. Tomorrow's a big day, and I want to show up rested and ready.
Why I'm telling you this
I'm not interested in pretending this business arrived fully formed. It didn't. I left a world of boardrooms and fundraising galas to build something new, brick by brick, conversation by conversation. Some days look like quiet momentum. Some days look like an open house I've been prepping for all week.
Either way, I show up. Early mornings, honest work, and a genuine love for this state — that's the whole formula.
If you're curious about the Greater Phoenix market, thinking about buying or selling, or just want to say hello at tomorrow's open house — I'd love to meet you.
